About Me
I qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1992. My early professional experience was with structural engineers dealing with insurance claims relating to subsidence, fire & flood. I became self-employed in 1997 continuing to work on insurance claims, but I soon developed a specialisation in commercial property, primarily dealing with; dilapidation claims for both landlords and tenants; refurbishment works; conversion works; contract management & administration; and project management.
Working from my Stamford base I am involved with projects throughout the Peterborough, Northampton, Leicester & Nottingham post code areas. Approximately 5 years ago I decided to establish a London base in order to service an increased workload in the London and Home Counties areas. Being London based for half of my working week I can readily access most parts of the country via the train and have recently undertaken work as far afield as Plymouth, Cardiff, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Warrington, Swindon, etc. As my London base is only 10 minutes from City airport, I can economically access most parts of the UK served by regional airports. For example, I recently project managed an office to flat conversion in Glasgow.
During the last few years, I have project managed the conversion of redundant offices to flats from inception through to final handover, with projects in Croydon, Slough, Bedford, Biggleswade, Hemel Hempstead, Woodford, Glasgow & Reading.
Despite developing various specialisms, I am almost always engaged in a very broad spectrum of professional activities. At the time of writing I am involved with the following projects; numerous dilapidation claims acting for both landlords and tenants with claim value between £20-800K; development of a block of new flats; development monitoring of a 20,00 square foot industrial unit; project managing the development of a 17 acre industrial estate; expert witness for a tenant defending a £80K dilapidation claim; insurance reinstatement following a fire; roof refurbishment works; feasibility reports for upper storey extensions; a range of Party Wall Act matters; etc.
As I enjoy the challenge of resolving my clients’ property issues, I welcome all enquiries and I am willing to engage in telephone or email consultations during which I will be pleased to offer my initial advise free of charge. You will find that I am easily and readily accessible!
